Medium’s editing experience is miles ahead of everyone else

By everyone else, I mean Wordpress, Tumblr, LiveJournal and Blogger. I’ve used these 4 for varying amounts of time. If they were ranked in order of time spent on the platform, they would be: Wordpress.com > Blogger > Tumblr > LJ.

The reason for me starting a Medium blog in the first place was because of me being frustrated with Wordpress.com’s insistence on using their garbled new “modern” UI and the shitty Gutenberg block editor (which honestly feels like a third rate Medium editor clone).

The Medium editor feels so much more intuitive, I figured out how to do everything I needed without googling for anything. If Gutenberg was a bit better I probably never would have left WP.com in the first place. But that thing isn’t really there yet.

Blogger had a decent editor last I checked, but the platform itself seems really dead/abandoned and then there’s the added chance of it turning into yet another product that was Killed by Google

Tumblr was OK but I remember having issues logging in when Yahoo took over. Their mobile app was a bit buggy too. Wonder if that’s fixed. Might move there if I get annoyed with Medium.

LiveJournal is less a blog and more of a Russian social network these days. That ship has sailed.

I'm stupid and I try to learn new stuff. I also rant about things I don't like.
